根據英國歷史上著名跳台滑雪運動員艾迪經歷改編的《飛鷹艾迪》，呈現而出的是一種獨出機杼的感動，這一故事並無關於成敗，卻不僅將夢想為人以啟迪，更將奧林匹克「重在參與」的體育精神得以淋漓盡致的詮釋，在夢想面前金牌的榮耀亦變的並不重要。
電影對艾迪的聚焦，從兒時的奧運夢想到成為一名真正的奧運選手，眼睛近視，也根本沒有什麼運動天賦可言，並且在只有很短的時間里卻要完成最高難度的90米跳台滑雪運動，這幾乎是一件在常人看來絕無可能的異想天開之事，而事實也確是如此，艾迪的困難並不是能否能獲得金牌，而是他是否真的能完成這一項運動，但面對不斷的否定和困難，艾迪唯一未嘗改變的就是對夢想的執念，永不言棄的毅力貫穿全片成為了電影最為有力的命題。
《飛鷹艾迪》並沒有刻意的去呈現那艱苦卓絕的歷程來體現對勵志這一命題的升華，相反導演以喜劇作為電影的基色，在詼諧幽默中道出了這一故事，電影在喜感張力的塑造上由昔日《特工學院》中的塔倫·埃格頓飾演的艾迪與「狼叔」休·傑克曼飾演的教練這對性格迥異的師徒，本自枯燥無味的訓練，在休·傑克曼插科打諢的「牛奶與烈酒」等包袱中，變的生動有趣，這也使電影至始至終一直維系住了出色的節奏把控，不僅為人感悟以夢想的啟迪，更在輕松幽默間忍俊不禁。
有多少人在面對夢想的時候，因為自認的「不可能」而失去了追逐夢想的動力，其實《飛鷹艾迪》與《阿甘正傳》一樣，都是以弱者的形象去詮釋夢想的真諦，而艾迪的際遇，更是對夢想沒有成敗最好的例證，他在奧運會上雖沒有獲得一枚獎牌，但他卻感動了在場的每一個人，成為了當時媒體的聚焦，不僅蓋過了冠軍的風頭，甚至奧委會不得不制定了「飛鷹規則」，成功與失敗不過是他者看待事物的定義，但夢想正如艾迪在滑雪場上像鷹一般的風馳，那是屬於自已的經歷。
除了自已，沒有人能阻擋一個人追逐夢想的夙願，更相信每一個人都可以成為那為夢想而翱翔的飛鷹。
